Information we collect

When you use Receipt to Excel, we process the receipt images you upload and the structured data extracted from them (date, merchant, amounts, category, etc.) while you review it. If you pay to unlock an export, Stripe handles your payment details directly — we never see or store your card information. We also collect basic, anonymous usage events through our analytics tool (see below).

How we use uploaded receipts

Receipt images you upload are sent to our AI provider to extract structured data such as date, merchant, amounts, and category. That data is shown to you in the Review table so you can check and correct it before exporting to Excel. We don't use your receipts for anything beyond generating your export.

Automatic deletion within 24 hours

Uploaded receipt images are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of upload. The Excel file you download is generated in memory at export time and is not saved on our servers afterward.

Payment processing

Exporting 6–20 receipts from a single job requires a one-time payment, processed by Stripe. We don't store your card details — Stripe handles that directly. We keep a minimal record of the payment (job ID, plan, and receipt count) so we can confirm your export is unlocked.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the product is used (for example, how many receipts get uploaded, or whether exports succeed). This is anonymous product analytics — we don't send receipt content such as merchant names, dates, amounts, or filenames to PostHog. Input fields are also masked in session replay recordings.

How long we keep data

• Uploaded receipt images: deleted within 24 hours.
• Excel exports: never stored — generated on demand.
• Payment records (job ID, plan, receipt count): kept to support the export you paid for.
• Analytics events: anonymous, no receipt content included.
